Digital Justice

At AfroVillage, we believe that access to technology is a basic human right, not a privilege.

Digital justice means ensuring that Black, Brown, and marginalized communities have the tools, skills, and resources to fully participate in our digital world. Technology shapes how we learn, connect, and build our futures . Many of our communities remain disconnected due to systemic barriers. From lack of affordable internet to limited access to devices or digital literacy training, these inequities deepen economic, educational, and social divides. AfroVillage works to make change that narrative by centering digital access as an essential part of liberation and community power.

Our focus on digital justice goes beyond closing the “digital divide.” It’s about creating digital freedom , spaces where our people can learn, create, and thrive without surveillance, bias, or exclusion. Through free Wi-Fi programs, device distribution, workshops, and creative tech learning opportunities, we’re building a future where technology supports wellness, imagination, and self-determination. We envision a world where our communities are not just users of technology, but innovators, designers, and leaders shaping it.
