BLACK COMMUNITY SCIENCE NIGHT
AT OMSI

AfroVillage had the honor of participating in Black Community Science Night at OMSI again! We were there last year and were so excited to bring our mission to life in a new way!

This year we gave away free produce, similar to what we do once a week at our wellness space. We also had an innovation lab for kids to explore how food is power and apart of our Black history. We had lemon batteries, dried herbs for creating tea bags, and small beakers for kids to use ph strips to test how acidic different types of liquids were.

One of the best parts of the night was being able to hand out small science goggles and gloves to the kids to take home. As we planned this event we knew we needed to keep this energy going! So in two weekends we will be hosting a full night of innovation for Black families!
